From Parish records I've found out that my father's Godmother was Gladys Winifred Stone. When searching through birth records I found a Gladys W. Mynn (my father's surname) born in 1916 (Jan/Feb/Mar QTR). Her mother's maiden name was Smith & she was born in Dartford (where my father was born). I would like to find out how she is related to us and what became of her. Any ideas? Or anyone with access to good resources? Many thanks, Scott |

Hi Scott I think you will need to purchase the birth cert and ascertain her fathers name...... this may make her relation to your fathers family much clearer?? |

If you suspect she was your grandfather's sister, could you look in the BMD for your grandfather's birth and see if he was registered with MMN of Smith. Might be a way before you send for the relevant certificates. Regards Gail |

Sadly she's not my grandfather's sister, as his mother was Mynn and he was registered without a father. |

The cert will cost £7.00 if you order it from the GRO.........it really is the only way to find out what you wish to know. Reg |
