Hi If you don't have relatives in the U.S. I would recommend the U.K. Deluxe annual membership. I can't remember how much I paid for it, but really worth it for all the records available. If you do have an occasional need for the U.S. there are always kind people on the boards who will do a lookup for you.

There is a UK subscription, which costs around £70.00 for a year. It is excellent value.............as it has England/Wales censuses for 1841 - 1901, plus Scotland 1841-1861. All England/Wales bmd's are on the site, but you can access those without charge, simply by registering. You need to look at Ancestry(.)co.uk (omit brackets) Reg

Following a free 3-day trial, Ancestry.com have now emailed me with a “special offer” of US Deluxe Annual membership for $99.95, which appears to be a good buy. But then it seems to imply that this US membership offers access to US records only – when my need is for UK records, so would be a waste of money. Can anyone enlighten me please? Is it better to subscribe through Ancestry.co.uk? Janet
