Adopted Child??

Hi Does anyone know how I put an Adoptive child on to my tree on Genes. I've just found a relation who is married with two children of his own and an adoptive daughter of only 3mths, and Im not sure how I enter it on my tree. Can anyone help?? Regards Cheryl

on genes you can only attach 2 set of parents to a child so if you want to add birth parents and adopted parents then you have to choose which to add. If this relative is a living relative it is probally not a good idea to add his children in the baby even if you have concent to add him and his family. although if it's a relative on the censuses then unless you know who the biological parents were you could add the baby as a biological child and add a note in the notes box. I did this with a child that is on the census as adoted daughter to my family.

Hi Thanks for the advice. This child has been with the family from 1871 up to 1901 and on every census she is listed as adopted daughter.No idea who the birth parents are. So I will do as you say but make a note. Regards Cheryl
