I quite like (hangs his head in shame) the new Tree printing features, but there are a couple of niggles: The scaling option is a good idea, but the range of scaling has been set hopelessly wrong. Even at the smallest setting, the boxes are huge, and several pages are required to print anything useful. I have no idea why anyone would want to print at the other end of the scale. This must be a small thing to fix. Please fix it GR! The boxes should not have a coloured background. It is hugely wasteful of expensive ink, if you are using an inkjet printer, and as so many people at home do not have colour laser printers, printing in greyscale just results in having a grey hatched background which uses ink/toner to no good effect, and makes the text harder to read. Black lines, please and no background (or the option to have penny-plain or tuppence coloured). This must also be a small thing to fix. Please fix it GR! |

Well my trees print with no background colour and the boxes suit me 2cmsX1cm. Go to tools/options/advanced. Scroll to printing, untick box. |

I just tried again on a different computer (work, rather than home). Using the new tree in Descendants View, I printed one page of A4, using the default (middle of range) scaling. I get two boxes, 20cm wide and 6cm high. Reducing the scaling to the smallest option does reduce the size of the boxes, but not by enough to get three on a page. Are we looking at the same thing? |

Maybe we are accessing in a different way. Go to 'old tree' then 'tree viewer' On the left of screen are all your options. |

Jim I'm talking about the NEW tree (or actually the new tree Mk II). The old tree works - but watch it just disappear one day. Try the new one - it's fun... |

Actually, Jim, there is no longer any suggestion that the (new) tree is a beta test version. If it had been tested (Ha! Ha! Ha!) GR would know that it doesn't work. As far as I can see today, the only remaining reference to beta is in the link from the 'old' tree - which I assume just hasn't been updated since the beta tree became the standard tree, which became the Mk II standard tree yesterday. It doesn't work. For shame! |
