As well as the documentation at Kew for WWI prisoners, I would recommend you also try checking the local papers for interviews/quotes as they came back from the camps.

Try the documentsonline site. They have questionnaires filled in by some WW1 Prisoners of War.

Try National Archives for a look at the Medal Index Cards. This will give his name, number and regt if you can find his name (hopefully it's not John Smith) :-) Keith

A friend of minesgreat grandfather was a prisoner of war in ww1 in Wurtemmburg. I have his name etc does anyone know if I can find out what regiment he was in? Kind regards Jody Martin
