Hi Everyone, Thank you for your replies, I have checked the St Helens burial site and cremations, LDS , Lancashire on-line Parish, any where else you could suggest. Maybe I should ask for a reference check at the GRO. as Gail suggested. Thanks again for you help it is mcuh appreciated. Margaret |

Hi Margaret Having had a look at the GRO site you can request various reference checking points including 'other checking points' and date of birth, but of course you pay £10 and get £7 refunded if it is not the correct one - so could still work out expensive. Think you are right with your first instinct and go with burial records if you can get a look-up, may help to pin point the right death before sending for certificate. Possibly monumental inscriptions if there was a headstone........ Regards Gail. |

Hi Gail, Thanks for answering. On the marriage certificate Mary was 18 , which would make her dob, abt.1833. Is there any way you can request a death cert with the year of birth? Margaret |

Hi Margaret As they got married in Q4 1851 I take it this is before ages were put on the death indexes...........difficult one..........I don't know if you can cross reference a death certificate with an approximate expected age when you order and hope that the others have a different age. Someone else may know. Regards Gail |
