This is going to sound very silly but how could i get a copy of my Grandmothers Birth Certificate. I do know that she was born in April 1912 and was one of twins. The Birth was registered in the Wellingborough district of Northamptonshire. I have looked it up in the Ancestry.co.uk - England and Wales Birth, Marraige and Death Index (1837 - 2004) and found out a reference of 3b 248. What i need to know now is how and or who do i contact to get a copy of her birth certificate. I have been told that i need this so i can find out her parents names and then get a copy of their marraige certificate. Also does anyone know how much it would cost? |

Hi You can order them online at www.gro.gov.uk, and they are £7 remember to tick the reference known box (thats the set of numbers that you have). They will give you an estimated date of dispatch when you place your order. |

Use the GRO (http://www.gro.gov.uk) to order your certificates. They will ask for that reference, the year and the district. plus the name. Certificates are £7 each. |

Susan, What was her name? Her mother's maiden name will be listed against the birth. With a bit of luck you might be able to find her parent's marriage if the surnames aren't that common. Rose |

Rose Her name is Evelyn M. A. Luck and her twin Brother is William C. D. Luck they were both born in Bozeat, Northants, which is in the Wellingborough district of Northants. I have contacted several members of this site who have Luck's in their trees but have not been able to find the right family yet. It is apparently a common name in Northants. i have been told by another member that if i amable to get a copy of My grandmothers Birth Cert i should then be able to find out her parents names and could then search for their marriage Cert. All i know at the moment is that her mothers maiden name was Robinson. Hopefully this information should then enable me to find other brothers and sisters i know she had |

Just for info The register offices for Northants can be found by googling for the Northampton County Council website. Once on the site enter 'copy certificates' in the search box. The local offices are listed along with the coverage for each one. Glen |

With the son also being Willaim C Luck I would say that the odds of the above marriage to Sarah Robinson being wrong are Zero. The Marriage cert will get you further back into census years. Bob |
