Is it possible that your grandfather came here when he was still a boy - brought over by his parents ?? and your great grandfather may have been in the army in Canada ?? it is worth checking Overseas Births.

You can try www collectionscanada ca (insert periods for spaces. They do have somewhat searchable passenger lists. from 1925 to 1935 by passenger name. Are working on lists from 1865 to 1922 you need lots of patience. But might be able to find here. Good luck, I did find my grandparents on the passenger list from 1927 but have yet to find my gr-grandmother. Sue

The 1901 and 1911 census are also free at automated genealogy. Also, if there's a chance that he was a soldier in WW1 the attestation papers are online at Archivianet. Margaret

Dear Joy The 1881 Canadian census is available on familysearch(.)org - remove brackets. Depending on how old he was when he came to this country you might be able to find details of his family. Best of luck with your search Maria

My Grandfather immigrated from Canada to Britain, in the 1920s. How/where do I find any information about him, e.g where he was born etc. etc. No-one in the family has any info. Any help greatly appreciated. Thank-you.
