What info does a WW1 Medal card give you?

Hi They dont tell you alot at all. Although you tend to get about 6 different ones that are on the same page - usually same surname . PM me with your email and I will send you one for an example Julie

Sophie A medal card will tell you the name, rank, regiment and number, which medals they were entitled to and the reference numbers that relate to these, date of entry, theatres of war and whether they were already deceased (e.g. when a Victory Medal was awarded to someone after death). The medal card is the first step in researching someone's military career. From this you will then be able to go further back and find their attestation, medicals and any prior service etc. Athena

Please can anyone tell me exactly what i would find out from looking at a WW1 medal card, i have place of burial, death date, number etc, not sure if i should pay to view if it wont tell me anything new! thanks
