Erysipelas is a chronic erupting skin infection, probably with out antibiotics could be fatal Les.T.

I have a death certificate for one Mary Rushworth, died 14 th Oct 1848, cause of death looks like 'Ery spelas' can anyone shed any light on this please. Gill
