david, do you have any printers, scanners or other usb devices attached? if so remove these items and retry the recovery process. - stripping the system back so you only have monitor keyboard and mouse connected would be ideal if you have a card reader on your pc make sure there are no cards inserted also, how many dvd\cd drives do you have - if it is more than one try the recovery from the other drive? hope this helps |

Can any member help me - I have a problem that is driving me mad. I want to recover my system using the supplied Recovery discs - when I put in the first disc I the recovery starts - then I get this message.......VAIO SYSTEM RECOVERY UTILITY. 'Cannot normally execute the initial setting of paertition information' 'This utility exists and your computer is re-booted' I have recovered my PC system [as purchased] mamny times with no problems......where am I going wrong now? Any advice appreciated! David |
