I have received a copy birth certificate today, and the fathers occupation is listed as a Foreign Correspondent (date of certificate is 1907). I know that we have Foreign Correspondents now i.e. Journalists, do you think that this would have been the same sort of thing? Any advice is much appreciated - thank you. Vanessa

Can't see why not - newspapers were the all important means of dissemenating knowledge then. The phone was already invented and I think there may have been cables (like telegrams). Victoria

Victoria, Thank you for the response. I know they lived in Liverpool at the time so I suppose I could see if there are any records for the papers at the time where his name may have been mentioned. Thanks again. Vanessa
