help needed before i go mad!!!!!!!!!!

Please could someone stop me going mad,I ordered a marraige cert for a Thomas Samuel and a Mary lewis in 1868, I have had an e-mail to refund me £4 as they say they are both on the same page but not married to each other,,I have just looked up the marraige on freebmd if you put in the 2 names it comes up, am i missing something here,this hobby has turned my hair grey..lol..anyway any help would be much appreciated..Sandra..

Do you know that these two are your ancestors or are you assuming they are because they are the only ones listed on BMD? BMD is not complete. They may have the same details with some of the other people missing from the page (ie her husband and his wife) If you ring the certificate place they are usually pretty good and will still send you the one you require. Hi Sandra FreeBMD will come up with a list of men and a list of women - usually 2 of each sometimes more. It does not tell you which ones married. Are you sure your couple married or are you tracking one of them and looking for the other? If you're after the chap - just put his name in the order and leave the spouse bit blank. If you know both of their names and have completed the form correctly maybe you have the wrong year/place/quarter? Jill

I know that a daughter of their's was born in 1873,I have just checked her birth cert and it appear's to been registered in Newport.I am trying to solve a mystery and need the marraige cert to find Mary Samuel's (nee Lewis's ) Fathers name..Sandra

Where did you get the name Mary Lewis? Was it from the child's birth cert? Or are you, perhaps, guessing? Reg

No Reggie I try not to guess,I have that birth certificate, and Mary Samuel is on the cert as nee Lewis....thanks' to everyone who has had an input I will get there in the end.lol
