Having slated hotmatches in the past I thought it only fair to report a couple of successful hits this week. I have just been in touch with a descendent of my great grandfather's brother who emigrated to Australia in 1851. The second success was a match for the sister of a different gg grandfather. I had herliving and dying in Somerset. However my contact gave me a death reference in the Cape South Africa. He gave me a link to a web site which shows that she and her husband and children were 1820 settlers on the Weymouth. This seems to be the South African equivalent of having ancestors who sailed on the Mayflower. |
