A letter arrived today giving my great grandfather's addresss in 1911 ... but I can't find anything about it by googling. Can anybody tell me something about this place? Stephen John Stewart lived at Sussex Villa, Ruette Braye, St Martin, Guernsey. I think the previous year he would have been with his family in St Peter Port and by the outbreak of war he was in London.

Go to: www.thisisguernsey.com. Hover your mouse over News and in the drop down box click on 'You say'. You can post your information and ask someone if they can help. There is a Les Ruettes, Bray St. St. Peter Port as well as St Martins.

Paul, I am working just down the road from Ruette Braye and will go and have a look for you to see if it is still there. La Ruette Braye has had lots of changes over time but you never know. If I find it I will take a photograph for you and if you give me your address I will send it to you; will this help? Regards Shirley

Shirley, that would be fantastic! I already found his previous address in Dalgairns Road, took a picture of the property and began a correspondence with the current owner. It would be great if I could do the same with this one.
