Hello, i have some details about my grandfather, whos name was George Smith, born 1908 Luton. We know his dad was Smith and we have connections to a grocer on the corner of Langley street and albert road in Luton, i was just wondering how to search street addresses? thanks

I thought that you have to have a name to search on ancestry? How do you search by address? If you just put address in it asks for a name so I'm not sure what to do. I'll bet one of you can put me right...please.. Jacquie

Hi Jacquie On Ancestry you can only search the 1881 by address or occupation. If you know the address just put 18 Albert Road or whatever in the street address box, enter the county and town name and then search.

You can do an address search on Ancestry for 1881.........no other. The PRO site for 1901 has an address search facility And findmypast has address search for 1841, 1861, 1871 and 1891. Reg
