well yes lol but it says he was a labourer on both but that means nothing as at the time of his marrage he might well have been but at the time of his birth his father could have been a sailor or something if this birth cert is the wrong 1 it looks more and more like it could be the right 1 but still need to rule out the 3rd

ON your grandfather marr cert did it say what his afther profesion was?? and does it tie in with whats on the birth cert?

Steve am just checking to see if can work out who Hawes married whether it was a Walter Jones or not!!!

hmmm interesting as on both certs one being the wedding and the other the birth his fathers name is just walter and on the birth cert the father and son are just plain walter no L ?????

Steve In 1919 Sept 1/4 there is a a Walter L Jones marrying a Lilian Humphy ref Camberwell 1D 2256 sorry see your problem now!!!!!# BRB

Steve Have you actually recieved the second cert where the mothers maiden name is humphry ? If so what is her christian name?

my grandfather married dec 25th 1940 to my nan beatrice clifforth in greenwich he was in the navy and thats all i know

Steve have copied your request her as it's easier to read in the first reply, as it won't bunch up like the opening post... My grand father was Walter leslie Jones born abt 1919 in london, i have looked on ancestry and found 3 possibles from his wedding cert. his fathers name is walter jones. 1st is a walter l jones born 1920 poplar mothers name carter so i sent off for it and the fathers name was franklin - so wrong 1 2nd is walter jones NO l born 1919 greenwich so i sent off for that. The fathers name is walter jones mothers name humphry 3rd is walter l jones born 1919 poplar mothers name is hawes how can i find out if she married a walter jones with out sending off for the other cert ????? as i will end up with 3 certs and 2 will be of no use to me any help would me most welcomed thank you to anybody that trys to help me steve Firstly where did your grandfather marry/live.... Popular or Greenwich???
