would I be right in saying that finding one man and one woman with the same registration number does not guarantee they married each other? Their respective spouses could have been missed off. The only way to be sure is to get the certificate I think. cheers Rose

Rose yes you are right the only way tobe certain is tobuy the cert. However, i have found family in census, and then as I knew the christian names, using free bdm etc I could make an educated guess at teh brdies surname. however I only dothis on non direct line..... like Gt grandmother brother for example.... I won't be tracing that line, so don't want tobuy certs but it's nice to know who he married.

have you got them on them census's as I think i can see them on most census's Jeanette

Remember also that they could be two men/women of the same name marrying in the same quarter and and only getting a copy of certificate will you know if you have the right one. I was told in no unceertain terms on here that I had the wrong two people, one certificate no was 377 other 378, he had the wrong one but I had marriage certificate and also knew the parents names. So remember don't take anything for granted.
