For interest, if you go to: http://www.hertfordshire-genealogy*co.uk/ (replace asterisk with full stop) there is a history of straw plait making in Hertfordshire. I have straw plaiters in Redbourn. Carol |

Hi Can anyone tell me what a straw plaiter is circa 1841. I think it may be someone who bales straw or makes mats etc as it appears to be mostly women of my family who has undertaken this work. Thanks Sue |
