Frankie, you would need their marriage certificate to find out their fathers' names. This is the reference to order it from Lancashire BMD: Lancashire Marriage indexes for the years: 1903 CLAYTON Michael MURPHY Margaret Liverpool, Register Office or Registrar Attended Liverpool REG_LP/258/33 If you look at the Lancashire BMD website it will explain how to order the cert. http://www.lancashirebmd.org.uk/index.html (Or use the references in Jeanette's reply to order it from the GRO at www.gro.gov.uk) Kate. P.S. Because they married at the register office, there will not be a parish register copy of it which somebody could look up for you at a record office; you would have to order a copy from the GRO or from Lancashire BMD as explained above.
