I want to know if it is possible to do address searches on ancestry for the 1901 census. I need to know who lived at 65 becklow road, shepherds bush, london. My Great Granddad Frank Victor Charles Corby lived there when he was born in 1899 with his parents Walter and Alice Amelia Corby, but I'm unable to find them on the 1901 census. Help please! Cheers, Jenna |

Addresses can be searched on National Archives for 1901 census but cost 75p to view the result. Perhaps they can be found on 1901 Maureen |

Maureen, Thanks for the help, I'd already managed to find those 2 references I'm just stuck on trying to find them in 1901. According to my great granddad's birth cert, the family were living at 65 Becklow Road, Shepherd's Bush,London on the 12 November 1899. But i just cant find them on the 1901 census. |

Have you checked out the family I found in 1901. I think the name is Corby but the end part of the 'b' is low and has been taken as 'le'. Maureen |

You can look up addresses on Ancestry but it is quite a slog...I have done this twice but never London. Click onto the 1901 census....scroll down the page and click on 'choose a county'....click on London and it will fetch up the areas...if you are lucky enough to find the area click on there then you need to find the road....!! Does that make sense ? I think I have to agree with Maureen on this one!! Linda |
