a woman's maiden name is only shown on her married certificate and her childrens birth certificate after the day she marries, so you need one of them. |

Check the marriage certificate, you can order them online. If you do have the marriage details you could try familysearch and type in the fathers details, it may come up with the name of the person he married, listed in her maiden name. |

Please can someone tell me how i can i find someones mothers maiden name, i have got Eliza Ashenden and she was born in 1880 Whitham Kent, i think have found her on the 1901 census but it does,nt give her mothers maiden name if someone can help i would be grateful Thank you Doreen |
