Thank you, all you kind people for your helpful advice. Thanks also to Jenny , I will try and follow your advice next time I need access. Also to Peter Morgalla, I will print our your advice and have a go. I did manage eventually to use the other route to get access, and went through my contacts list. Bit of a bind that, I can`t understand why it is not in date order, would have made it a bit easier to find the one being looked for. Still, I expect the powers that be on GR seem to want to make like a bit harder for us now! |

Macromedia Flash Player is a program from Adobe which many modern websites sites need you to have installed to load and display properly. Most people should have it installed already on their computer. If you haven't, go to Help FAQs, click on Viewing and printing my family tree, then click How do II view my family tree and you will find a link to the Adobe website where you can load the latest version. Rather than select someones tree from you own tree display,as this opens it in full tree mode, fine for small trees, but less so for large ones, go to My Contacts, and click on the little green tree next to the members name. This opens their tree in Immediate Family view which is much better. Go to search, enter the name you are iterested in and it takes you straight to the relevant part of their tree. You need to have pop-us enabled for the GR site as trees open in a new window. |

Sorry ROGER for giving your name incorrect, my son had just been talking about someone called Terry, and I had typed that in before I relised my mistake, please forgive me. I am a bit daft sometimes! No wonder there are so many complaints recently, why on earth can`t the GR people leave things as they are, it takes a while to learn everything right in the first place, but then after you have got used to that, they come along and muck it all up!! WHY oh WHY, Please GR leave things as they are please |

Thank you Keith, I `m afraid I do`nt unerstand this flash business. Anyway, I clicked on to load it an hour ago, then I went to watch a TV programm (about Blackpool with Sarah Lancaster, very interesting) I`ve just come back and it is STILL not loaded, I thought it would have been much quicker than that,, considering the fact that I am on Broadband! Hate to think how long it would take on dial up!! Thank you anyway for your advice, I will try and see what I can manage to do to otain it. Thank you also to Terry, giving me the information about Tracy Brown, will go now and see if I can get that. |

Hi Maud You need to have flash viewer installed to see the new tree, I believe you can still see the old tree if you do not have Flash installed if you click on the tree you wish to see in your contacts, or if you load the new tree and then switch to view old tree from there. Hope this helps Keith PS lots on my thread, not just about not viewing own tree. |

Hi Have you misunderstood my question. I do not mean seeing various events on my OWN family tree, I meant trying to see someone else`s tree if they have opened it for us. When I clicked n to see their tree, all I got was the green square and a message about FLASH VIEWER what it that??? and how do I get acces to their tree?? |

Hi Someone has opened their family tree for me to view, however, when I click on to do so, I am presented with a green square, and it asks about flash viewer. What do I have to do to see the tree? I did not come up against this previously, so system must have changed since I last viewed a tree! |
