I posted this before but I can't remember which thread it was on. Appologies for posting a second time. I am registered on Ancestry, but not actually paying. I was told I can access FREE census info from someone else who is registered like me. But I can't! Can you tell me what I am doing wrong please! This is what I did.. My name is at the top, From the home page I clicked on UK Census (left hand side of page), next I filled in the search details(name etc) + clicked search...........When all the names came up I clicked view record(which was in faded writing).........Guess what.......It came up with the free trial thing again!. I am obviously doing something wrong! Thanks for your time, Regards Ann

Only the 1881 and 1901 census records are free at the moment.

Ann... I've just done it your way and it worked for me ( although were it says view record it isn't faded writting )... It is only the index of 1881 and 1901 that is free you can't view the images.... I do it a bit differently. I log on then click on 'Search' just under my name. Making sure I'm on historical records I fill in the name of who I'm looking for. Then click the orange search box Then on the left hand side I click 'Census' The next page will then let you click the census you need. Then I find who I'm looking for and click ' view record'.
