I have just looked at some new Trees that I have been given permission to look at. It has been a while since I looked at the Trees. You used to be able to see a list of all the names and now you can't Is there any way of doing this on the new tree? Hope you understand what I mean. Thanks Shiela |

Hi Sheila, I know what you mean, and you can't do it any more!!! There is no list, so you have to start at the beginning of the tree and TRY and work your way back to the common factor. If it's a large tree, and you don't where the connection lies within the rest of the family, you haven't got a hope! I have to keep writing to people and asking them to go through, generation by generation. It's ridiculous!!! Oooh 'ek, I'm off!! lol Debbie |

The only way I know is if you look at the top of their tree page you will see search...click on there and you can then enter the name you are looking for. Linda |

On your own tree switch to old tree . Then when you look for the persons tree at the top right it will be the old one too. Then type in the name you want. Margaret |

The list of names was not much use if the tree was large, and It has been replaced by the search facilty. If you don't know the first name type in a surname only and it will bring up a list of everyone with that name. Selecting a name from the list take you straight to their section of the tree. Is is actually easier to use once you get the hang of it. |

I used to like looking through the list of surnames in other peoples trees though to see if there were any other matches with my tree and sometimes found several, especially in those with names from the isle of wight. Jenny |
