help with census please

Hi all,could someone tell me if the ancestry census's are complete???,I have James Wainwright in 1871 with his widowed mother Grace and brother Henry,,,,,,I know from his marraige cert that his father was called Nathan but I am unable to find any of them before 1871,,,,,,,thank's for any help from a very frustrated Sandra

If at first you do not find what you are looking for then keep the information to a minimum. For example - search for Grace with surname Wain* - this will pick up any mistranscriptions of the surname - you will see the 1851 has been transcribed as WAINRIGHT - not WAINWRIGHT. Or do a search for a Grace born in Altcar. Or search for the surname WAIN*RIGHT - this will pick up Wainwright and Wainright. The use of the asterisk (*) is a wild card - which means it can be equal to anything (or nothing!)
