John, Sorry for the delay in replying but had to go out. Bt Yah** suggested the IE6 SP1 would repair any problems but nothing has changed. Oh well will have to wait and see what they suggest next. Thanks again, Maureen |

You should be able to go into control panel then add/remove programs and in the list find internet explorer highlight it and click remove a new panel comes up with three options the middle option i think is repair click in the little circle and this should put a full stop in the middle of it it if so click ok and it will repair internet explorer if the panel with the three options dosnt come up cancel the remove and you should be back to where you are now with nothing lost if the repair option is their do as above it cant do any harm and may solve your problem John |

Original message 3rd November 2006 Anyone else having problems sending emails with BT Yah**? I click on 'compose' and everything looks okay, can add the address and subject, but I do not have a box in which to type my message. Contacted them and response was to do temporary internet files and cookies - I do those regularly but did tried again - made no difference. Have had this problem all week. Any suggestions would be appreciated _ Updated message 7th November 2006 Have now lost the drop down list of sites that I have visited - not the history list nor bookmarks - but the one that shows the site you are currently on. This is currently showing http://www. genes etc but has the drop down list which would normally show sites such as BBC News or Doglost or Ancestry that I normally visit on a daily basis but it is blank. Updated 16th November 2006 Sorry folks for nudging this up again. The only response I have been getting from BT was telling me to clear out temporary internet files and cookes. So I kept telling them I had done this and it is also done on a regular basis anyway. Finally today got a proper response from them. They are now suggesting that Internet Explorer could be corrupt and I should download Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 and this should solve the problem. I have had a quick look at the link they have given me but the time to do the download is over one and a half hours. So before I do this I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what could be the problem. Updated 18th November 2006 I have downloaded Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 as suggested by BT but I still have the same problem - no where to type a message when I want to send an email. BT have emailed this morning and have said they will pass my problem over to their specialist team. Maureen |
