I`m trying to find out why my greatgrandmother who I think was born in Warwickshire, went to Ireland about 1891 `ish. She was a maid to a family called Osborne in 1891 in Warwickshire . In 1901 they were still in England altho` father had re - married. Thomas Osborne was a horse trainer so maybe moved to Ireland for a few years as he seemed to move around.GGM married in 1895 in Ireland and her address was SUMMERHILL, KILLINEY. I have written to that address as it`s now a hotel to find out if it was a family house in 1895. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks, Ros |

I think youve covered it Ros. If she were in service to the family and the guy was into horses, Ireland would be a place where a lot of the blood stock would be and I guess she would travel with them. Wait til you hear back from the hotel. Meanwhile you could try googling the employers name and the place in Ireland and perhaps horse racing or horse breeding and see what comes up. Ditto googling the place for photos. You could have a look at some horse racing or training websites for the dates they were there? |

It should be possible to search on the address? |
