I have recently found out my great uncle was in the dutch navy. He was killed by the Japanese in 1942 in long nawang (Borneo) and is burried there in a mass grave. He recieved a 'rememberance cross for special services' posthumous in 1950. I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how I can find information on him and the events surrounding his death. I do not speak any Dutch!!! Thanks

The nearest Neterlands equivalent to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission is the Oorlogsgravenstichting. If you use this word to google you will eventually find contacct details in English. Denis.
