Could some kind soul look up a family for me please? Peter O'Brien, Collier, in Maesteg, Nr. Bridgend. His daughter was married aged 17 in 1899 so could be living at the address he had then - 6 Edwards Court, Maesteg. I'd be really grateful for any help. Many thanks in advance, Chris

Thanks Debs - that's a really kind offer. I know absolutely nothing. Let me explain!! Leslie Joseph DELANEY was born in 1913, registered in Bridgend, mother called O'Brien, youngest of 7 children. I found the marriage of Elizabeth O'BRIEN and John DELANEY - May 1899 and the certificate arrived this morning (quick work - only posted the request on Monday!!) John's Father is shown as Richard DELANEY (Deceased) and Elizabeth's Father is Peter O'Brien. I have located John and Elizabeth in 1901 in CWMDU and it shows both John and Elizabeth being born in Ireland (not surprised with those surnames!). Also, they were married in the Roman Catholic Chuch! I'm just wondering if Peter might be around on the 1901 to give any further clues - neither Richard nor Peter are on the 1881, by the way!! I think this could be a dead end! Sorry to bore you - and thanks again. Regards, Chris

Sorry - my computer looks a bit out of sync, so I only had Deb come up on screen!!! Very many thanks Alan for all that, and Jess (seems strange but lovely to see you back over here - I often read you 'over there' where I trade under the name of bethany's Gran!!!) for your advice. Really apreciate you helping me out of a spot. Chris
