Hi Carol, sorry to hear that, I presume that you must have asked for a checking point on the certificate, at least you can discount him then. On with the search, good luck. Keith |

I've just received an email regarding the certificate I ordered. Unfortunately, Michael was not the right baby. Different Mother's name and the Father wasn't listed. I'll have to keep looking. Thanks to all who helped, I really appreciated your time and effort. Regards, Carol B |

Thanks Keith, I guess I am just grasping at straws... I so wanted to find him. I think I will have to wait until I next visit the UK and try to research further. Carol B |

Carol, can I ask where you got the MMN from for Harold if you have not found the birth? His death is registered in Manchester. Update, just found his birth Q1 1950, Whittaker, Harold, MMN Fairbrother, Manchester 10e 630. So not him then. |

Well, I've just found found a Harold Whittaker(mmn Whittaker) who died in 1950 Q2 10e 277. Why does he not have a birth record? Any suggestions? Thanks again. Carol B |

Sorry if my message was a little confusing... I got these dates from the hospital records of the hospital where my Aunt delivered her baby. All I know is that the staff of Ashton General tried to save him but he died on the same day. I know he was male, so that eliminates Ann. I am at a loss because I didn't have any information until I received the information I posted. I suppose my Uncle may have mistakenly listed Whittaker as my Aunt's maiden name. I was told previously by one of the other members of genes reunited, that if he breathed, both a birth and death certificate would be issued. Hope this clarifies my situation. Thanks for all your replies, I really appreciate your help. Regards, Carol B. |

If they are death dates, I think these are the references assuming Ashton is the area as its only common area:- Whittaker, John W, age 77, Ashton 10b 105, Q2 1951 Whittaker, Peter A, age 0, Ashton 10b 106, Q2 1950 Whittaker, Ann, age 0, Ashton 10b 108, Q3 1950 Obviously cannot be sure about Ann, but only child registered Ashton age 0 in Q3 1950. Birth of Ann Whittaker, Ann, MMN Whittaker, Ashton 10b 172 Q3 1950 Possible birth of Peter Whittiker, Peter A, MMN Ellor, Hyde 10a 446 Q2 1950 Hope this helps Keith |

If these are burial dates, Peter must have been born in April. It is unlikely that the same couple had a child in September of the same year. Gwyn |

Hi, I have found three records which may be a possible match for my Uncle and Aunt's child.. Unfortunately, when I search on Ancestry.co.uk I cannot find any record of their births or death. Can anybody check and see if I am missing something... 19/4/51 John William Whittaker - no age given but unlike other entries there was no date of admission. 1/5/50 Peter Whittaker - age 25 days 13/9/50 Baby Whittaker (no first name) age 2hrs 25mins I obviously need a reference before I send for a certificate.( Mother's name is Elizabeth Whittaker nee Armitt) Any help would be much appreciated. |
