Family Origins computer program

I had 'trouble' getting the disc in the first place, and I think because I have 'played' with it, this is why I now can't open it in either programes. I think I will have to ask for another copy of the file. Thanks for yr reply. Kerri |

I think a backup file will only open if it can reference the original file. Can you obtain a GED from the person who sent you the GOB? |

I presently have Family Tree Maker Version 16. Recently I was given a 'back-up file' taken from a Family Origins program. As it wasn't a GEDCOM file I wasn't able to open - very annoying!! I have since been able to obtain the CD for the Family Origins but now can't open this 'back-up' file. I have tried 'importing' 'restore from backup'. The file is saved as '???.gob'. If anyone can help me convert this file - which is presently on a floppy disc - so that I can either open in FTM or even this Family Origins programe - it would be much appreciated.
