Jim..........Can you tell me what I am doing wrong please! This is what I did..YES my name is at the top. From the home page I clicked on UK Census (left hand side of page), next I filled in the search details(name etc) + clicked search...........When all the names came up I clicked view record(which was in faded writing).........Guess what.......It came up with the free trial thing. I am obviously doing something wrong! Thanks for your time, Regards Ann

The bmd records are accessed via the menu to the right of the 'search records' box Click on 'more........' under the bmd heading. (second group down under Historical records) THEN...........ignore the search box.........scroll down to Search individual bmd collections....find the England and Wales titles..........they are listed alphabetically........and click on the relevant category. DO NOT pick on the ones which mention freebmd.............you want the FULL records. Hope this helps...........easier to do than to explain Reg

I did try that but when I got to the lists the names were there BUT the towns etc were in blue(I think) writing + to view them it said I had to sign up for a trial! I obviously must be doing something wrong. Thanks, sorry to sound thick!! Ann

No..........for bmd's you do not have to give card details. Just register with the site...free. Reg

Don't you have to register for a free trial to search? I thought you had to leave your card details before you could look! Thanks, Ann
