im trying to find any information on the 1920's boxer jack hood, as far as i know he was born in 1901, any information would be appriciated as im struggling to find anything, i have been on the boxing website but that was not much help, if any one knows where i can find a picture of him please get in touch

Have found an article in The Times dated 1st June 1926 when he won the Welter-weight championship of Great Britain. Just looking for more. Jim

He's on a cigarette card! I Googled 'Jack Hood' cigarette card and an ebay item came up with his picture, Item number 280033809342 You should be able to download it and maybe enlarge the bit you want (he's the one bottom middle)

sorry - no pictures in The Times, I guess there must be something in the newspaper archives at Colindale probably about the date of his fights. Various other notes in The Times but nothing biographical. Jim

Garry, accoring to the newspaper archive site, there was a newspaper called BOXING published from 1909 to 1927. After that, it changed it's name several times and is currently being published under the name Boxing News. Might be worth contacting them. Colindale has archive copies which can be inspected. Jim
