If so how can I do it?? I have put the images from Scotlands People into my picture folder on the computer. When I try to send them to anyone in the family, they can't view it because the have jpg usually Abode picture viewers. Betty |

Yes, you certainly can. As far as I know you need the right software. We had the same problem and my hubby downloaded some free image converter software (a free trial) off the internet. I think you can just google and try out a few. Hope this helps, maybe someone else knows another way. |

Hi Pamela, I don't know how to open it in Paint, there isn't any option for paint. Betty |

Are you running microsoft windows? If you go to start then all programs, accessories, and you should see paint in the list there. Open the tiff in there, then click save as and change the drop box to jpeg or bmp |

Do you have digital camera software? If so, open image with that and see if Save As gives an option for saving as jpg. |

I open all my ScotlandsPeople images in Irfranview - which can be downloaded for free - then save as JPEG. After I have saved the images from ScotlandsPeople I right click on the image which brings a box up - choose Open With - then select Irfanview - this brings up a warning message that it is a TIF file with incorrect extension. Rename? - click on Yes. The image is now open in Irfanview and then select Save As and you can then save the image as a JPEG. Hope that makes sense. Maureen |

Hi Maureen, I used to view my images on Scotlands People with jpg, I found a few of the image were very hard to read and contacted Scotlands people about it. They said I should use java for tiff images and they could not send me a copy of a bad image if I continued to view with jpg so I had to change to Java which they suggested as its tiff. Betty |

Hi Betty, Well I have learnt something today. I have always downloaded images from SP as TIF because that is the option that comes up automatically. Strange thing is that after I have viewed them in Irfanview - cropped and printed them - closed the program - they change to Kodak imaging. Maureen |

I have Jasc Paint shop photo album and I can save in any format and change from one to other, but TIFF is the best one to get a good image to start with but it also uses the most memory that is why JPEG is used for it uses less memory, but you lose more each time you save it. Jasc Paint is my default Photo programme, But i also have kodak Easyshare and Epson photo on computer. |

Do you have a scanner, if so you should be able to change images from Tiff to any other format. Or on search bar of your computer go into Tiff images and have a look at what comes up |
