Can anyone help please! Am I understanding correctly that if I go to the family records office I will be able to look at marriage certificates without having to buy them? As I understand that you can only do this with marriage certs & not births & deaths! |

Hi Clare The only way of seeing marriage details is looking at church records. To see details on birth, marriage and death you need to order certificate Julie Just to add if you order from family records you still have to wait for certificates, its not like the tv program WDYTYR where they are given them on the day. |

Hi Clare, You will be able to see the original parish register entries for marriages that the certificates are taken from as long as you know where the marriage took place (ie the church). You should be able to get photocopies of the entries. I believe that register office entries are not viewable, but maybe someone will correct me if i'm wrong. Good luck Keith |
