192*com has electoral rolls online, but you have to pay. Occasionally they do FREE access for a week or two, so keep looking out for that. Usually someone will post a message on here to let others know. Ann |

To my knowledge the FRC does not hold ANY electoral rolls or electoral registers for ANY year. The amount of shelving needed for just one year would probably equal all the BMD volumes they have. The only places that I know of that hold electoral rolls/registers are the local or county archives or local main reference library though :- The British Library has complete collection from 1947and som earlier BUT to see registers prior to 1984 you will need to give 48 hours notice as many are kept off-site. To view in the British Library you will need a Reader's Ticket which you can get by providing a driver's licence, passport or bank card. The Guildhall in London also has a selection from the 1830s. The LMA holds complete set for London and Middlesex. For Wales the collection is held by the National Library of Wales and for Sxcotland at the National Archives of Scotland. For your guidance - if you do a search of any electoral registers even if you know the address you should know the consitituency or you may spend a long time trying to find just the address. |
