Hi, I'm looking to confirm my suspicions on an illigitimate birth. I have Jane Hannah Gregg born Sculcoates area of Hull in 1858. I know for definate that Jane had a daughter called Charlotte. Jane marries twice, onces to Octavious Reed in 1893 and has a son Henry Edwin then marries Richard Sherwood/McGinty. I can find no record of a Charlotte Reed born but I know she was about 12 years older then her brother Henry. However, I can find a Charlotte Gregg born in Sculcoates/Hull in 1885. Charlotte marries with her maiden name as Reed. Could Jane's husband have taken on her illigitimate child? I would also like to see what Charlotte is shown as in the census' with Jane. Any help?? |
