I've just followed a link from another thread to www.victorianlondon.org and have found the most vivid descriptions of streets where my Victorian ancestors actually lived in 1848 written by a Victorian philanthropist. Lots of other info about occupations etc for all over London. Well worth a look, thank you to whoever put me onto this site! Sue |

Do you mean Henry Mayhew? You can buy his book on amazon or second hand through abebooks - its fascinating stuff. |
