My grandfather died and his wife Clara Dyer (nee Woods) re married a Mr Knight (currently waiting for marriage certificate to arrive). They had a daughter born c 1915 called Dorothy Knight. Clara died c 1918 and there the trail goes cold. My father had no contct with his stepfather after his mother died and I have bene told a story as we are often are tht Dorothy was adopted after the death of his mother. Sorry I forgot to say in all of this that they lived in the St Pancras area of London at that time. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

Does anyone know if by contacting Barnados today, they are able to advise whether a child was taken into their care round about 1918 ish? I have a child who seems to be a bit lost after her mother died! Thanks Gill
