Advice please... I have just had notification, again, that the birth cert i ordered is not my granddad. The name is fairly common, John Mawdsley, (although it is now Maudesley) His father was John Roberts and his mother Mary Mawdsley. He is listed in the census as John Roberts but when he ran away from home he took his mothers maiden name. He was born in the Liverpool/Bootle area of Lancashire in c1874. Any suggestions as to how I track his birth registration down so as i can order his certificate will be most welcome. Kathlyn |
