Hello Does anyone know where I could find the history of Hounslow Barracks please. I believe it was normally for the Cavalry but, also a Depot for the Middlesex and West Kent Regiments. Thank you Shirley

Hi Georgina Thanks for your reply I will take a look at Google. Regards Shirley Hi Margaret. I was wanting information about the barracks because I have an ancestor Thomas Clements who was in the 57th Foot West Middlesex who fought in the 1879 African 'Zulu War' who died at the barracks in 1884 aged 30. I am trying to find out as much info as I can. Regards Shirley

Shirley, Contact Hounslow Library 0845 456 2800 and ask to be put through to the local history section. They have a very good local/family history librarian who should be able to help you. I am sure he will be able to come up with all sorts of information. Jennie
