Yes Reg I am a bit green. Fathers name: Thomas William Morgan Wright, 1939 born Morpeth,Northumberland. His parents were: George Robert Wright c1905 Morpeth, Northumberand. Lucy Morgan c1911 Morpeth. |

Hi You say you can pin your grandparents births in the BMD? Are you certain of them? Have you got your fathers birth certificate to prove it or have you been given the information by him? Assuming you are correct, was your father the first born or did he have older siblings? I would start looking for the marriage a couple of years before the known first born on the full marriage index. Would you like to post details for us to take a look? Keith |

There is no info post-1901, other than bmd's and Electoral Rolls. And only the bmd's are on line. What are the names of the people you seek? Put them on here, together with birth years and birthplaces, and see what happens. I suspect you are very new to this hobby........... Paying a professional researcher would be horrendously expensive...........and most probably completely unnecessary..as you are only at 1901............if it was 1801, it might be different. Reg |

My Grandparents were born a couple of years after the 1901 census and I can pin them down in the BDM's. Very frustrating this as I've hit a wall so early. I'm considering taking on professional help but would so like to do it myself. I've paid for accesss to ancestry.co.uk but my Fathers parents just dont seem to exist. I've got my Mother and fathers marriage cert and have the exact names of their Fathers and still no exact matches. Where should I go from here? |
