Kate No it definitely stops you getting them! I didn't know I'd ticked the box and couldn't understand it when everyone seemed to be receiving their hot matches every fortnight - I didn't receive any for months! Went to My Account Details, unticked the box and they've been coming ever since! Debby

Sorry Kate You could be right about the notification only, not sure what is happening with people not receiving hot match's, there have been a few threads recently about it. Keith

Hi Keith I thought that was just for whether or not you wanted notification of new hot matches so that box isn't checked. However despite that, until recently I have still had new hot matches added to my list. I'll give it a go though and thanks for replying. Kate

Hi Kate, to receive or cancel Hot matches you need to go to your account details. At the bottom, there is a section for e-mail preferences, if you check there and see if you have it ticked or not for hot matches. Hope this helps Keith

Sorry this isn't a tip - wasn't sure which board to put it on. Weeks ago I cleared out most of my hot matches the majority of which I had no connection with. Since then I haven't received any new ones although I know that names have been added which match my tree. I have e mailed genes about this and got a fairly unsatisfactory reply. I'm sure I have read that hot matches can be switched off and I am wondering whether I, or genes, have inadvertently done that. However I don't know how to check that - and GR did not address that part of my query. Has anyone had the same hting happen to them re Hot Matches? Does anyone know how to switch them on/off. Thanks Kate
