Entering mothers names into your family tree on GR

When you enter any mother into the family tree on GR do you enter either her maiden name, married name or both?? Betty |

normaly the name given to her at birth. |

I always enter the maiden name because that is her birth name and from that you can see who her father and mother were - if you were to enter any of the other names that she acquired, it would be very hard to trace/follow through. |

birth / maiden names (only have a few cousins who are different ,all listed under their dad's names but 2 have 3 surnames coz parents are not married and the other - the mother of the foresaid - was reregisted when the parents married to have dad's names so has 2 maiden names) |

The act of marriage does not change a woman's name. She can be born, marry, give birth and die with her birthname. So technically it's wrong to assume she adopted the husbands name without seeing birth certs of children or her death cert. Bob |
