Member Since: June 2004 Posts: 0 Send Message	Hi All I have been trying to find a birth for George Patrick Smith born 1867 in Woolwich, Kent - fathers name George William and his mothers name was Mary. I would be very pleased if anyone finds it if they could let me know the reference nos. in order for me to order the birth certificate from the GRO. Many thanks Pauline

	Have you checked the FULL records on Ancestry? Bear in mind that registration was not compulsory until 1875........... Reg

Member Since: May 2004 Posts: 620 Send Message	Just had a look at the transcribed records on ancestry (freebmd's server is down) & found: George P J Smith 1866 Q3 Greenwich 1d 722 You'll have to do as Reg suggests though & trawl through the scanned records (free) on ancestry to see how many possibilities there are. You're lucky to have 2 first names with a surname like Smith. hth sarah :-)
