Julia, who is he likely to be with and what occupation would he have. Have you found him anywhere else? I take it you are searching backwards so what are his childrens names and occupations and where are they living in 1841 please?

as far as i know there was a daughter, Elizabeth who married a William Mitchell in 1840 in Wincanton, Somerset, Elizabeth was born in Wincanton, Somerset. Thanks for your reply.

The marriage in 03/1840, Wincanton, was for William Mitchell to Elizabeth CROSS. ( I was thinking about the old style writing). Angela (Reggie beat me to it!)

The 1841 Glastonbury Robert Crop is a farmer - does this match with the marriage cert? He is with a Gould family and one of the females is a Gould Corp - does that name have any significance for you?

Hi all, Many, many thanks for all your replies, really grateful, I do have the marriage certificate for Elizabeth Crop and William Mitchell, married 10 February, 1840, in Wincanton, Somerset. Is everyone in agreement, it was Cross rather than Crop???
