Hi Yvonne Well done! Are they normal BMD certs - how much do they cost from Durham? Angela

Yvonne If you have ordered direct from Durham RO you will probably receive them in the next couple of days. They are really nice people there and you can even phone them with requests and order over the phone. Kim

I normally order through 1837online, is it quicker to do it through the local record office? Frances

Hi Angela & Kim The certificates cost me £14.00 for the 2, but it came to £14.32 cos of postage and packing. They are my great grandfather and are mainly for my dad who is 87 and the start of this whole Family tree thing as he had never seen his grandfather so hopefully he will be very pleased with them. I also wrote to Whiston Hospital last week for permission to view my grandfather on my mums side as he was in Rainhill Hospital in Rainhill Merseyside so waiting to see if I can view all his notes whilst he was in there, mum said she would come with me when I get the permission to the records office, looks like it might be a bit upsetting but looking forward to it. Best wishes Yvonne x

I think it depends Frances. Ive had them in a few days from local offices but I was disappointed to find that they were in modern hand rather than the old one photocopied.
