I've learned a bit about exporting my tree as a GEDCOM file. Is it possible to create a GEDCOM file of just part of my tree? I have Swedish relations, and wanted to send the relevant part of the tree to them, so they could correct and augment it. |

If you mean from your online GR tree - no. It is all or nothing. But if you have a GEDCOM file held in any half-decent genealogy software, then it is a doddle. I am most familiar with Personal Ancestral File (from LDS - a free download), and it has built in filters (and you can create custome ones if you need to) that will deal with most circumstances. |

Are you using Family Tree Maker? There is a thread on this board called Splitting & Merging Files using Family Tree Maker by Ron O'Neill. If you put Splitting into the search box then you can find it. Maureen |

A few months ago someone talked me through splitting PAF. If you put PAF into the search box it might still be there. I will have a look and see if I can nudge it for you. Regards Jeanie A. |
