Hi Bacardi, The easiest way to do it is to generate an Outline Descendant report starting from the person you want to have at the top of the tree branch. When you have the report on your screen, go to the menu bar at the top of the FTM window, and select File -> Export File -> Copy/Export Individuals In Outline Descendant Tree... You can then save the new file as a .GED or .FTW file. This works as long as the Outline Descendant report shows everyone you want to appear in your new tree. If you have the parents of spouses, for example, which don't show up in the Outline Descendant report, they won't be exported into your new tree. There is another way of doing this, but it's more complicated! Chris

You're welcome, Bacardi. :-) I just had a thought - I don't know if this is the sort of thing you're after, but what I do is just create a Genealogy Report starting from the person at the top of the branch and export the report to a PDF file so that I can e-mail that to a new contact. Sometimes I also create an Outline Descendant report if the first report is rather long, as it helps someone new to the tree to keep right in the maze of twigs. Again, you do it from the File menu, while the report is on the screen, but select the option which says something like Export Report, instead of Export File. I hope it works for you. :-) Chris

I also create a Genealogy report, then save it as a pdf file. Then you can email it as an attachment.
